Description
The current collection consists of three historically significant preserved cabooses, representing the three transcontinental railroads that served Southern California from the roaring twenties through 1989 when “crummies” were removed from the nation’s freight trains; two 1940s Union Pacific lounge cars in period décor and a 1951 fully restored Santa Fe streamlined sleeping car. Relive the experience of rail travel in the days before AMTRAK and jumbo jets.
Watch as members restore obsolete railroad equipment to operating condition.
The museum is open the first and third Saturdays of each month. Admission is free. Come explore our railcar collection. Guided tours are available.
