To Camp or Not to Camp?

By Jennifer Nguyen, Publisher Macaroni Kid Yorba Linda, Fullerton, Placentia, Anaheim Hills May 13, 2021

As we start opening up and returning back almost to the status quo of pre-pandemic life, parents are preparing for another summer. The big question is… to camp or not to camp?

Summer camps are a great way to get the kids out and entertained during summer, but is it too soon? There are a million questions regarding safety measures, safety, and accessibility for our children during this interesting time and the only one who knows the answer to that question is you. As a parent, you try and make the right decisions based on the information you have. You are the determining factor in what you deem to be safe for your family. As always, the opinions around this subject will be varied but ultimately, it is a personal choice.

The good news is that many camps are opening up which gives parents more options in choices for their children and their activities over summer break. Whether you’re looking for online or in person classes, there are plenty of different options that you can choose from to accompany your comfort level.

Remember, do what is right for you and your family and take the precautions to remain safe. The main takeaway is that Camps are returning, safety measures for most are in place, and they are at the discretion of parents and your comfort level. Whether you decide to send your children to a camp is a personal choice and you are making the right choice for your family.

Have fun this summer, be safe and know that your choices are the right ones for you and your family!
