MTOC is very excited to be producing this musical in the Orange County area and is looking forward to the challenge this show brings due to flying, adding in special EFX, acrobatics, along with new costumes and sets.
Tarzan is Directed by Britany Callahan, who brought the immensely popular and sold out performances, “The Little Mermaid” to MTOC last season. With exciting music by pop icon Phil Collins including Grammy and Oscar winning song, "You'll Be in My Heart" under the Musical Direction of Krissy Smith, coupled with energetic choreography by Nom’l Brown, this production is sure to please audience members of all ages.
Written by Tony Award-winning playwright, David Henry Hwang, based on Edgar Rice Burrough's Tarzan of the Apes and the smash-hit 1999 Disney animated film. TARZAN tells the story of an infant boy orphaned on the shores of West Africa. Taken in and raised by a tribe of gorillas, the young boy strives for acceptance by his ape father while grappling with his uniqueness. When a human expedition enters their territory, Tarzan encounters strangers like himself for the first time.
The cast includes both children & adults and features some of the most talented vocal artists, actors and dancers from the Orange County & LA county.
