Welcome to The Swimming Swan — Swim Lessons & Private Lifeguarding! We offer expert in-home private, semi-private and group instruction by our certified and experienced team. Average years experience of our Swim instructors = 7.4 years
We are a family owned business with over 30 years experience in swim instruction and coaching, competitive swimming (up to collegiate level) and ocean lifeguarding in Orange County, Los Angeles County and San Diego County CA.
Our focus is on catering to your individual aquatic and health needs. If you are looking for one-on-one swim lessons for your child or a new low impact exercise for yourself and prefer to learn at home, The Swimming Swan is here for you! We provide highly experienced, Red Cross certified swim instructors and lifeguards that have gone through an extensive hiring process, evaluation and thorough background screening. Our team is fully insured.

The Swimming Swan’s mission is to spread our aquatics safety movement and decrease the number of drownings annually.

The Swimming Swan Offers: Private One-on-One Instruction, Semi-Private Lessons, Group Lessons, Aquatic Fitness Lessons, and Private Lifeguards available, too!
Swim Lesson Prices
To begin swim lessons, we require a minimum of four lessons per swimmer. Refunds are gladly given on any unused swim lessons.
Lessons are offered in 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12-lesson packages.
Registration Fees:
One-time registration fee of $10 which includes a free t-shirt for children 10 years of age and under. If after the first lesson you are not completely satisfied, we will refund the remainder of your lesson package or re-start your lessons with another instructor.
Most beneficial lesson format:
Children ages 2 and up, to adults, benefit the most with a minimum of two swim lessons per week. Normally, beginner swimmers need between 12-20 lessons to self-rescue. 30-minute swim lessons for ages 2-3 are recommended; 40-minute lessons are recommended for ages 4 and up, and 60-minute lessons for teens and adults. Light stretching is recommended before each lesson.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS: One-on-One Instruction
Available for ages 2 and up.
- 30 minutes $40 (recommended for ages 3 & under)
- 45 minutes $50 (recommended for ages 4 & up)
- 60 minutes $60 (recommended for teens/adults)
SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS: 2 Swimmers Learning Together
Available for ages 3 and up. Children need to be similar in age and abilities.
For safety reasons, no toddler or novice children allowed.
- 45 minutes $50 ($25 per swimmer)
- 60 minutes $60 ($30 per swimmer)
GROUPS OF 3-5 SWIMMERS: All Lessons Are Back-to-Back
Group packages are available for three to five swimmers, all back-to-back. Each lesson is 30 minutes long.
1.5 hours $90 ($30 per swimmer/3 swimmers)
2 hours $110 ($27.50 per swimmer/4 swimmers)
2.5 hours $130 ($26 per swimmer/5 swimmer)

PRIVATE LIFEGUARDING SERVICES
Are you throwing a pool party or have a water event coming up? Do not rely on partygoers to keep a constant watch on bathers to maintain safety. Hire a lifeguard!
Our lifeguards practice preventative guarding to avoid injury before it happens. Our lifeguards are all experienced swimmers and are Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR.
Private Lifeguarding Prices
2 hour minimum per event. Our policy is 1 lifeguard to every 20 bathers. If there are going to be more than 20 bathers, 2 lifeguards must be hired to accommodate and maintain proper safety measures.
- 2 hours = $100
- 3 hours = $150
- 4 hours = $200
- 5 hours = $250
- * There is a rush fee of $30 if the event is less than 72 hours prior to registration.
- * Cancellations must be done at least 24 hours in advance of event.
- * Registration fee of $10 per event.
