Fullerton Founders Day Parade and Fair Returns After 22-Year Absence
The Fullerton Founders Day Parade and Fair will return on Saturday, September 26, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in downtown Fullerton after a 22-year absence. The event is presented jointly by North Orange County Chamber and the City of Fullerton.
The parade, which steps off from the intersection of Berkeley Avenue and Harbor Boulevard at 10:00 a.m., will feature dignitaries, local bands, and community groups marching south onto Wilshire Avenue.
During and at the conclusion of the two-hour parade, an old-fashioned town fair will be held at the Fullerton Downtown Plaza, with entertainment, contests, food and vendor booths, and an awards ceremony for the marching bands. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase at the Fullerton Museum Beer Garden.
“There has been substantial interest from residents and area marching bands to bring this parade and event back,” explained Fullerton Mayor Greg Sebourn. “With the support of our Chamber of Commerce, City staff, and generous sponsors, we’ve been able set the stage for its return.”
The event is being organized, managed, and funded by several agencies, including the City of Fullerton, the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce, community groups, volunteers, and with additional support by JP23 BBQ Smokehouse and Sports Bar.
For more information on the parade and fair, please call the Chamber at (714) 871-3100, or the Founders Day website at www.cityoffullerton.com/FoundersDay. Parking for the parade and fair will be available in the public parking lots throughout downtown Fullerton. The parade may be viewed from the sidewalks on Harbor Boulevard between Berkeley and Wilshire Avenues.
